My favourites

Every morning!! When i open my cupboard to pick a t-shirt(i don't pick jeans,as it is the same daily :-) ) there is one t-shirt which whispers to me "pleaseee wear me.." and it smiles..:-) most of the time i pick it.. sometimes i reject it and look for something else... but eventually i come back to the same t-shirt which grabbed my attention initially... if i don't somewhere i feel i am hurting the t-shirt similar to the "pain of rejection." ,i know all this could be sentimental.. but that is how i develop my intuition... Sticking to something which gets ur attention in no time!!!

Similar to the t-shirt picking event, i face another awkward situation!!! selecting songs to hear on my ipod ... be it t-shirt or a song.. finally, realized this after one month of data.. "i wear and listen to some songs & t-shirt very often these are the ones i call my favorites" and then there are some other t-shirt and songs,which i don't wear nor listen,but they are jus there with me... they are the things which were there with me from long time but did not pass the test of time... so the point i am trying to make is certain things are standing the test of time ... displaying great characters within themselves... and i want to select those special songs and see its similarity!!!

It might look i am talking something contradicting to the article i wrote about rahman.. but i am jus trying to be more true to my taste ... the songs listed above are my favorites and the ones i listen very often.... they are not in the order of my liking or rated.. thats why both of my favorite music directors are on both ends so that we don't judge based on its order.....

Wat do they have in common!! one thing for sure no technology,voice modifications,fast paced numbers stay for long, they motivate us initially... when they fade away we dont even return to them!!! its all melody!!! all of them has great tunes and voice... with very less amount of instruments or orchestra... jus a tabala in maula mere is soothing and inspiring in the long run!!!... i definitely did not like "thuj mein rab diktha hai" intially... i thot there is nothing new... but when i watched rab ne bana di jodi it made such an impact which i have not lost till now... every time i listen to it i feel the the innocent true love he has for her!!! so songs which are so close to the emotion of the movie and which represents the feel of the movie in one song will definitely be in our minds forever... those songs takes us into the characters of the movie and make us ache every time u listen!!

all these have great lyrics,they are very simple and depicts the situation in the best possible way,the tunes have base of carnatic or Hindustani... they are not jus some tune which cannot be associated with Indian music or raagas... this might make us feel we have already listened to it some 100 times and its like bhajan... but believe me those are the songs we hear repeatedly!!! if not check ur recently listened or most heard playlist on your ipod!!

does that mean we should not innovate new things or try something different yes off course we should... but we cannot decide immd, as its the best.. it has to pass the test of time.. rahman is my favourite, but when it comes to repeated hearing for years... there are everyone in it... yes rahman is comparatively more... No doubt.. but still those songs which sticks to basics are the ones that lasts forever....

after speaking about all these basics,from wat little i know about music, every time when a new album of rahman releases i ignore all these and go back to his songs where he breaks all the basics and creates new rules and i listen only to it!!! then after some time i come back to these same playlist.. may be sometimes some of the track gets added to this list!!

All though there are so many music directors in the list i would rate two of these very high

Shankar - Ehassan - loy... appart form the songs and tunes i like(that anyways is a obvious reason)... they maintain the same chemistry,Friendship and are together for almost 10 years.. in times where people fight for smallest of the small things being in a creative and evolving process the way they are together by resolving all their creative differences is truly amazing!!!

A.R.Rahman - i know everyone will laugh if i appreciate his music... i don't qualify ... but why he tops everyone else is his modesty - 2008 FIlmfare... A.R.Rahman nominated for janae tu ya jannae na,Jodha akbar,Ghajini...(3 out 6 nominations was his) was judged the best music director and best Background composition... whole bollywood rose to standing ovation.... ranbir kappor and imran khan fell flat on stage...rahman was not noticing wat ranbir and imran were doing on stage.. Aishwaraya rai and amitabh were forcing him to see that act of falling on floor by ranbir and imran... whole bollywood rose to standing ovation.. everybody in bollywood accepted he is the greatest composer of our times... and u know wat he said..."i feel very awkward to hold this award,it should have gone to salim-sulaiman for Rab ne bana di jodi"

Study Holidays

has it ever occurred to you... In coll study holidays... you know certain obvious Questions that has to be read for the exam.... but all through the study holidays u keep postponing it for later session...(for the reason it has to be read with concentration and thoroughly....thats the funny part)... slowly days turn into hours and then you are jus couple of minutes before the exam... still have not read it... its then you hear a voice saying "it came last year ,this year it will not come".. that voice gives you so much confidence... that you enter the hall with full form.... You the open the paper...you find that one question which u were thinking of reading all through your holidays...."suddenly all perspective changes... you scold yourself...feeling guilty and wat not, you might even know so many other questions but feel y didn't i read that one.. i could have even entered the hall few mins late"... i have encountered that feeling in all exams in all semesters ... its ok in college.. but lets not make that happen in our lives... lets do that one thing which we have been thinking for a long time.. it might be small or big but later, we shouldn't feel guilty... Have fun ..enjoy urSELF.. There is nothing Professional or Personnel its all LIFE

A.R Rahmans Mysterious Magic

This article is an attempt to reveal the mystery in music...

though this article is more related to A.R.Rahmans music,this could also apply all the people who work magic with their music....

As everybody says...you have to listen a couple of times or more to enjoy rahmans music....this is so common i hear it every time a rahman album releases...

this is definitely true...but the point which has been haunting me was....if we could not like it in the first few times then how does rahman picks up a tune, composes a song and incubates until the birth of a complete song.... may be rahman is more knowledgeable in music and has better ears for all sounds...this jus resolves the mystery of why rahman is a great composer and may be to a certain extent how could he pick a tune when it strikes him...but this answer still has not solved the mystery of why we don't like it in the first few times and latter we love the same thing.....

this question itself ensure the plane which rahman composes the music and the plane in which we listen to music are different...
on analyzing these two different different planes there are some important conclusion
Rahmans Working plane...
1.) He is not governed by his likes and dislikes (Rather experiments more with all his thoughts)
2.) He has renounced the expectations of the fruits of his actions or else he would have stepped down a level and composed his music in the planes we live

The above points are followed by people who have self-realized himself.

So it is the process of rising from the the plane we listen to plane we reach rahmans plane that takes time...
all of us are covered by ignorance which closes ourselves from opening our minds and it is the knowledge that removes the ignorance to see a bigger picture of life...rahmans music in the sameway erases our ignorance in music.....

Have you ever felt this...moment while listening..??
After listening to rahman's music for four or five times you suddenly say "oh God i am going to like this song from now on....how did i not like this song till now"

that is when your ignorance has been removed by knowledge...it is a magical moment i cherish for all rahman songs.....That particular moment is analogous to a spiritual experience(not religious)

It has always been a fascination to know what would happen next in life.Is'nt it the reason why people go crazy over astrology,numerology and tarot..? This article is just an attempt to reveal the mystery surrounding it
Everything which has a trend Planets,numbers or seasons is being used to predict our lives... so when i was looking to find wat else could we use to predict our lives..... i found i have Datas and milestones of 25 years of my life which has a trend and repeated patterns....this could tell me only when can i expect a change but not what could it be...?

Lemme explain it more clearly MY life [1996-2000 (9th & 10 th new school) -> change results->(11th and 12 th same school New environment and People )] results -> change [2000-2004 (College - new environment people)] ->change [2004-2007,(Satyam computers - new environment & people)] -> Looks like life seems to change for almost every four years within the subset of these four years life's path changes for every 2 years ,which means there is an upside or down side with reference to how it started... Now this might be common to all people who had schooling/graduation.and there is now way to predict with the help of this structure, i needed something relative to compare or analyse these data, as i was contemplating on these thoughts i found that on each and every mile stone, i realised one of my close friends lifes changed with me...it has so happened we had 1 hour of difference in filling 11 th std comp sci group ,we got our college admissions in a days difference and months difference in getting into corprates life, and now when i shifted my life into movie making carreer, his life drifted towards buissness school.....is it a co-incidence or its designed this way... i believe there is nothing as co-incidence,everything is designed to be this way...

In general,4 and 2 are important number that all of us should look for a trend,be it marriage,fatherhood,college or any thing...more important is look for the person around you whos life is linked with your's.....

Find that person and discus about you life you will soon find many more mystery revolving your life... and you would be more fortunate if things happen first first for the person wih whom your life is linked....
